VWO, Aware join hands to train needy in eldercare

Train Needy in Eldercare

Voluntary welfare organisation Daughters of Tomorrow (DOT) and the  Association of Women for Action and Research (Aware) have teamed up to train low-income women in eldercare.

This is a brilliant idea! On the one hand, low-income women are in need of jobs. On the other hand, Singapore's ageing population requires an ever-increasing pool of manpower to take care of the elderly, which is currently being supplemented heavily by foreign workers.

This move helps increases the income of needy families, reduces our need for foreign manpower, and improves the quality of care given to our elderly citizens.

Well done, Aware and DOT!
