Man in Hospital Gown driving Mobility Scooter on Road

The Straits Times reported today that there was a man in a hospital gown seen driving his mobility scooter down Eu Tong Sen Street.

According to the Land Transport Authority (LTA) rules, personal mobility aids (PMA) such as mobility scooters and motorised wheelchairs are not allowed to be used on main roads like that. They are supposed to be used only on footpaths and shared paths such as park connectors and cycling paths.

We urge all mobility scooter and electric wheelchair users to follow the LTA rules and use their PMA in a safe and responsible manner.
